At this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE), lighting product designs have seen new trends. With increasing market demand, many fixtures now incorporate backlighting and dual-side (up/down) lighting designs. It is understood that adding a backlight (7-10W) or upward lighting to fixtures not only enhances spatial brightness but also creates ambiance and enriches spatial layering.

Such designs are primarily used in commercial and residential ceiling lights and linear lighting products. For example, Leedarson showcased its C5 series ceiling light for children's rooms, featuring dual light sources that simulate natural light to protect vision and incorporating smart voice control technology to meet diverse needs.

German brand Paulmann created a mother-and-child-friendly home lighting space at the exhibition, equipping the ceiling lighting section with a soft diffused ceiling light and an intelligent circadian light strip. The upward lighting design delivers a pure, soothing light effect.

Meanwhile, Westiron Lighting exhibited dual-side lighting products for commercial spaces at the show, achieving an efficacy of up to 100lm/W.
